Family fun in Bristol - Saturday 18 October

We held our first family fun day at our newly relocated Bristol branch on Saturday 18 October. We invited our customers and shoppers to come in and join the fun.

As a building society, we are committed to our local community which is why we donated £1,000 to St Peter's Hospice after our Chelsea customers chose the charity over two others. Sian Rees, a representative of St Peter's Hospice, was there on the day to receive the cheque for £1,000 which will go a long way towards helping those who rely on their support.

Our £1,000 donation will be put to good use straightaway. It will be converted into 20 memory boxes for child bereavement therapies, 5 home community nurse visits and 3 patients will be able to spend the day at a Day Hospice.

Tom Hale, Bristol branch manager said "Our new branch puts us nearer the heart of Bristol and we're really keen to give something back. St Peter's Hospice has a great presence in Bristol and offer essential care to those with incurable illnesses."

He went on to say "It was great to see so many at our family fun day. We're committed to being a central part of the community in which our customers live and work and family fun days are a great way of doing this".

The GWR Thunders were also giving lucky people the chance to win an ipod shuffle every 10 minutes.

The family fun continued all day from 9am to 2pm with a face painter, were on hand to run through our latest range of products and services and we also offered the chance to win a trip to New York!
