From wellies to waistcoats we're wacky about Winston's Wish
22 January 2008
Chelsea Building Society is going ‘W’ crazy this week to officially launch its partnership with Winston’s Wish.
Staff at Chelsea are going to wear items beginning with ‘w’ this Friday 25 January and are holding a ‘bring and buy’ sale to raise vital funds for Winston’s Wish, Chelsea’s chosen staff charity of the year for 2008.
For the past couple of weeks members of staff have been bringing in their unwanted Christmas gifts to create a ‘bring and buy’ sale. On Friday a stall will be held with all sorts of gifts from MP3 players and wine through to mosaic kits and chocolate. A wish board will be on display throughout the day where staff can post their wishes for 2008 … and who knows some of the wishes may come true throughout the year.
To further increase the fundraising a web searching facility has been set up between Chelsea and Everyclick, whereby staff can surf the internet using a special web link raising funds for the charity every time they go on the internet. Everyclick’s blue mouse mascot is visiting both head office sites on Friday to launch the facility.
‘We’re looking forward to seeing the wild things people will turn up in on Friday’ said Sally Davies, Community and CR Consultant at Chelsea. ‘Friday’s an opportunity for staff to start fundraising and raise awareness for Winston’s Wish. This year we’re hoping to raise £30,000 and with the bring and buy sale and wish board we really hope to get the year off to a fantastic start’.
Winston’s Wish was chosen as Chelsea’s staff charity of the year after a staff vote to nominate the charity.
