Bristol charities need your help!
Staff at Chelsea Building Society's new branch on Merchant Street need your help!
29 August 2008
Following on from the unveiling of a new look branch at the beginning of the month, staff at Chelsea Building Society's branch in Bristol have £1,000 to donate to one lucky local Bristol charity. Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, St Peter's Hospice and The Julian Trust are all in the running to get their hands on the cash but they need your vote.
To place your vote you need to pop in to the branch at 28 Merchant Street and collect a token from a member of staff and place it in the box relating to the charity you would like to vote for. Voting will remain open until Friday 19 September so make sure you give the charities a chance and use your vote!
The winning charity will be revealed at the Family Fun Day being held at the branch on 18 October from 9am until 2pm where the cheque will be presented. During the day, there will be a face painter, a balloon modeller, lots of goodies and one lucky winner will have the chance to win a trip to New York (competition details are in the branch).
Speaking about the charity votes, Tom Hale, branch manager for the Merchant Street branch said "Our new branch puts us nearer the heart of Bristol and we're really keen to give something back. There are so many fantastic charities in Bristol and we didn't want to make the decision as to which one to support without the help of our customers and the people of Bristol".
He went on to say "We would like to see as many people as possible come in to the branch to vote for their chosen charity and it will be great to welcome the winning charity to our Family Fun Day next month".
The branch is open from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday (except on Wednesdays when it opens at 9.30am) and is open on Saturday mornings from 9am until 12noon.
